The Glow of the Sun – cancelled
The stamps feature the first rays of morning sunlight. One of the stamps shows tussock cottongrass on the edge of a bog in Alajoki, Lapua, while the other features a lakeside landscape in Orisberg, Isokyrö.
To photographer Jukka Risikko, sunlight plays an important role: "When the sun rises, the light is usually at its most beautiful because it is not yet too bright. This is when the colours and shapes of nature appear better than in bright daylight. A familiar place can look especially beautiful in fine light. Sunlight always varies, and weather conditions such as fog, mist or clouds also affect the tone of the light," says Risikko.
