Winter light -mint
The stamps featuring picturesque nature scenes are a perfect match for winter greetings. One of the stamps depicts frosty flowers at dawn in Alajoki, Lapua, and the other one a steaming winter landscape at dusk in Malkakoski, Seinäjoki.
“The overarching theme of the photos is the soft light of frigid days glowing from the sun that barely climbs over the horizon, as well as snow and frost. It was very cold, around minus 20 C, when I shot the photos. We don’t see too much sunlight in the winter, but the sun shining just over the horizon on a cold day is magical at best. The colder the weather, the more beautiful the light especially at sunrise and sunset,” Risikko explains.
