The artist Juta Policja found inspiration for the stamp issue Winter dreams on her winter walks in the countryside around her home in Sund, Åland. There, she often encounters the animals that feature in the issue: the deer, the fox, and the bullfinch.
The Europa denomination of the stamp indicates a specific monetary value when used as postage on a card or letter. The value corresponds to the current postage tariff for a shipment weighing up to 20 grams, sent by Priority from Åland to a Nordic or European country.
