Christmas 2023, Peace angel -cancelled
The theme for the two 2023 Christmas stamps is “Greetings from the Islands of Peace”. The angel and dove are familiar peace symbols.
Artist Lasse Harkkala has illustrated classic Christmas attributes, including Åland handicraft products; the Blomman flower pendant worn by the angel of peace is handmade by Åland jewellery-makers Guldviva and has been a symbol of Åland ever since it was first produced in 1992.
