Ice Hockey World Champions 2026 – cancelled
Posti Finland is issuing a stamp to celebrate Finland’s national ice hockey team winning World Championship gold in Switzerland.
The photograph on the stamp shows ice hockey player Konsta Helenius celebrating Finland’s 1–0 golden goal in extra time in the final against Switzerland, together with his teammates.
“The Lions’ World Championship victory was wonderful news for us Finns. The photograph on the stamp also captures the players’ genuine joy immediately after the winning goal. With this stamp, we want to celebrate the Lions’ achievement while also recognising the long-term work behind their success,” says Sami Määttä, Director of Posti’s domestic letter services.
“The stamp is a great tribute to the whole team. It is also wonderful that the World Championship title can continue to bring joy to Finns in this way,” says Jere Lehtinen, General Manager of Finland’s men’s national team.
In connection with the stamp launch, Posti is donating €10,000 to the Finkey Foundation, a charitable fund linked to the Finnish Ice Hockey Association. The foundation supports children and young people from lower-income families so that they can start or continue playing ice hockey. Posti has been working with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association since 2024.
