Winter rapids – mint
The stamp can be used for international winter greetings. The motif was photographed by Jukka Risikko. It features the Myllykoski waterfall on the River Kitkajoki in Kuusamo, where vapor from the rushing water rises in an impressive landscape blanketed in snow and frost.
"When I took the photo in February 2021, it was -25 degrees Celsius and beautifully sunny. Reaching the spot was challenging as the path was very icy. But once there, the view made it all worthwhile. The thundering rapids framed by the beautiful, frozen landscape and the old mill building created a fantastic scene," says Risikko.
