Yle 100 years – mint
The Finnish national broadcasting company Yle will celebrate its 100th anniversary in September 2026. The theme of the anniversary year is shared moments. Posti Finnland will mark the occasion with stamps designed by Anna-Mari Tenhunen, highlighting different aspects of Yle’s operations – from culture and children’s programmes to drama, production and technology.
The stamps feature the animated characters Ransu, Riku and Uncle Elmeri from the children’s tv series Karvakuonot, (eng. Furry Faces), musicians from the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Oona and Arttu from the tv series Aikuiset (eng. Adults) (played by actors Anna Airola and Elias Salonen). The stamps also feature a TV control room and the familiar TV test image.
