Gingerbread parade – cancelled
The 2025 Christmas stamps from Posti Finland feature cheerful gingerbreads cookies.
On the Christmas stamp, the cookies are dancing on a hot baking tray.
Mauri Kunnas has designed the motif, while his daughter Jenna, who also works as an illustrator, created the graphic design for the stamp. "The colour scheme of the stamps is clear and reflects a modern Christmas spirit. The perforations of the stamp nicely echo the shape of the gingerbreads," says Jenna.
Christmas is a familiar theme for Mauri Kunnas, who has published several Christmas-themed books. His book Santa Claus and His Elves was first published in 1981. Kunnas’ artwork has previously appeared on Christmas stamps in 1996 and 2006. Including the 2025 Christmas stamps, Kunnas has designed a total of 19 stamps.
The stamp is one in a series of two, the other being the stamp “Gingerbread choir”.
