Finnair 100 years -mint
Founded in 1923, Finnair is one of the oldest operating airlines in the world.
The 100th anniversary stamp designed by Ilkka Kärkkäinen has a nostalgic touch. “Finnair is an icon of Finnishness, and designing this stamp was a great honour. I’ve always admired the graphic style of Finnair. Erik Bruun’s posters, in particular, have made a huge impression on me. Also, the Finnair logo designed by Kyösti Varis is etched into the mind of every Finn.”
The Finnair stamp features beautiful movement and the familiar blue and white colour scheme. “The harmonious stamp represents timelessness and simplicity, factors that are also associated with the Finnair brand,” says Päivyt Tallqvist, Senior Vice President, Communications at Finnair.
