Posti Finland wins PostEurop design competition for 2026 Europa stamp

Posti Finland vinner PostEurops designtävling för 2026 års Europafrimärke

Åland Post is pleased to congratulate Posti Finland on winning the design competition for the 2026 Europa stamp, which will celebrate the 70thanniversary of this historic and popular stamp series.

The EUROPA stamp series was launched in 1956 to strengthen ties between European countries and promote peace and unity. Over the years, this initiative has grown to include 53 postal organizations, becoming a symbol of Europe's rich cultural heritage and shared values.

For the anniversary in 2026, PostEurop organized a design competition on the theme “70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United in…”. A total of 15 creative proposals submitted by the member states participated in the design competition, and Posti Finland's entry created by Klaus Welp was voted the winner. The design symbolizes the united efforts of the European postal services through a stylized perforated line and a mix of colours reflecting the European countries.

Åland Post will also be issuing this winning motif on its 2026 Europa stamp, and, together with the other European postal operators, we look forward to celebrating the long tradition of Europa stamps.

The formal award ceremony will take place during the PostEurop General Assembly arranged in October 2025 in Tirana, Albania.
