For five days, 2–6 June, an international stamp exhibition will be displayed at the Mariehamn post office. The general public and stamp enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see stamps from all of Europe – from innovative stamps to interesting displays from the UN, the Universal Postal Union, the Postcrossing project, and several other international postal players. The stamp exhibition is arranged in connection with Åland Post hosting the 2025 PostEurop Philatelic Forum.
"We are pleased to invite everyone to the exhibition here in Mariehamn. It is a unique chance to see how various countries express their history, culture, and creativity through stamps," says Johanna Finne, Design and Communications Manager at Åland Post Stamps.
Europa stamps, innovation and Postcrossing
The stamp exhibition comprises three distinct parts, one of which highlights stamps in PostEurop’s Europa stamp series on this year's theme of archaeological findings. Each postal operator has interpreted the history of its country through artistic stamp designs, and the Åland contribution featuring the Jettböle idol is also included in the exhibition.
In the second part of the exhibition on the theme of innovation, several European countries display stamps that explore various new ideas in areas such as form, design, materials and more.
In addition, visitors can see presentations of the stamps of the UN, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Uzbekistan, as well as an introduction to the Universal Postal Union and the global postcard project Postcrossing.
The stamp exhibition is arranged in connection with the PostEurop Philatelic Forum, bringing together in Mariehamn representatives from the stamp and philately industry from all over Europe for two days in June.
