According to Chinese astrology, the Year of the Hare began on 22 January. Celebrate the new year with Åland Post’s Year of the Hare stamp collection. Three different collectible items adhering to the hare stamp issue are included in the Chinese New Year pack: miniature sheet, first day cover and maximum card. On 20 October 2022, the ninth issue in the Åland Post stamp series of Chinese horoscope animals was published. Artist Martin Mörck has illustrated hares in their winter-attire, roaming among modern holiday houses on northern Åland. Ruizhen Liu made the calligraphy.
The pack also holds a maximum card with the mountain hare from 2017, which is no longer for sale. The cards was issued 15 September 2017 in the stamp series Forest mammals, which also included least weasel and raccoon dog.
