On 23 October, Åland Post releases this year’s Christmas stamps on the theme of ‘togetherness’. With warmth and a personal tone, Åland artist Jonas Wilén has illustrated two charming Christmas stamps that capture the joy of shared moments and experiences.
Christmas stamps celebrate the little moments
The Christmas stamps illustrate two heart-warming moments: the joy of skating side by side and writing a letter to someone you care for.
“Christmas is one of our most beloved holidays. Sending a Christmas card with a handwritten greeting is a simple but meaningful way to spread joy. This year's Christmas stamps highlight that feeling – that small acts of consideration and kindness can mean a great deal,” says Johanna Finne, design manager at Åland Post Stamps.
Well-known Åland artist invites to togetherness
Artist Jonas Wilén is one of Åland’s most experienced stamp illustrators. With his personal style and a warm expression, he has interpreted the theme of togetherness as both touching and evoking the Christmas spirit.
“I wanted to convey the joy of sharing an experience with someone else. Christmas is a time when we can truly be together. It also reminds us how wonderful it is to be generous,” Jonas says.
Order Christmas stamps
The stamps will be perfect for your Christmas cards and letters. The stamp with the Julpost denomination may be used on Christmas greetings to Åland and Finland weighing up to 20 grams for a limited time in November and December. The other stamp with the denomination Världen may be used on Christmas greetings weighing up to 20 grams to all other countries.
